Blues n Ballads at the Boughey Arms

StringFing had a great time stringfinging at the Boughey Arms, Audley, last night. The landlord, Paul Ball, a good friend from Boneshaker days, has created a wonderful new venue there. As well as laying on excellent ales, Paul has a triffik chef, and what makes the new regime at the Boughey especially welcome from my point of view is that it’s a regular live music venue too. Paul is booking his own personal favourite electro-acoustic bands. Bookings so far have included our buddies the Boat Band, our chinas the Slippery Hill Boys and our pals the Jake Legg Jug Band. It’s a right proper Muso Mates United!

Our blues songs, Mary Mary, You’ll Never Do It, Shame x5 and Too Cheap to Keep had the audience clapping along and they dug our ballads too. Me and Adam were two smiling doods driving home. Great to see lots of old friends there as well. Long may you prosper Paul.

I’ll be putting some new strings on my fiddle, later, ready for tomorrow’s Full English at the Packhorse, Longport. I’ve got a ruck of new tunes I’m itching to play. Hey, hey, happy days.
