Yay, tis true. Boneshaker are to reunite for a gig at the Holy Inadequate, Etruria, on 23rd October.
The reunion is being staged by Landlord Paul Cope whose drinking parlour with its scrubbed wooden tables and clean-swept floorboards and cool juke box has fast become the most noted in Stoke on Trent for its lashings of the topmost real ales and live music. A recent reviewer rated it as, ‘The finest pub in Stoke on Trent, if not the world.’
This is the establishment where StringFing and their guests play on the second Wednesday of the month (special September guest is Jimmy Gillespie).
The occasion of the Boneshaker reunion is a beer festival. Paul’s beer-expert colleague for this festival of brews will be Jason Barlow exCoachmakers Arms and another great friend of acoustic music.
Me and Adam were up for the event immediately n unquestionably and I got in touch with the Doc – Geoff Walton – he’s gonna get his guitar back out of CashConverters n make himself free to do the gig (I just made that bit up about CashConverters, don’t know why). The last bit of the jigsaw was completed when Phil Johnson rang me agreeing to put his mandolin and banjo down for the evening and blow the dust off his bass guitar.
And thus it has come to pass that the Boneshaker folk’s brand of electro/acoustic Anglo/Celtic folk-rock will be rocking again for the folks at the Holy Inadequate this coming October 23rd.
Ooooooh matron. It just gets rosier, don’t it?
